Congratulations to every member of every team that represented Baulko this season.  Whether you played, coached or cheered, when you were there, you did our great club proud.

 It happens every year.......

But it is also very special every year.

At the end of each season, Baulko footballers come to the end of their junior playing career.
2010 sees 16 young men from the Under 15/16 Div 1 side and 6 from the Under 15/16 Div 3 side making the most of their last few matches and training runs at Baulko. The Div 1 side celebrated what was most likely their last game at Charlie on Sunday 15 August (round 15) with a win against Drummoyne, followed by memorable rendition of the Baulko song, and a BBQ. There was even a banner highlighting the number of games played for the club by all the players in the team. The Div 3 side would have played their last home and away game at Charlie in round 14, but their opposition was unable to field a team and forfeited. When you tally the number of games played for Baulko by the 16 year olds moving on at the end of the year from both teams, it comes to well over 1700 – pretty special.

Both teams will feature in the Finals, the Div 1 side having finished top of the ladder, and the Div 3 side in 3rd position.

Nipper Gordon hits the Big Time

Nathan Gordon, star 200 gamer and life member at Baulko, really is living the dream. As of Thursday 5 August 2010, he is on the Swans Senior list – here is an extract from an article on the Swans website:

Roos said he disagreed with the perception that the Swans' young players struggled to develop quickly because the AFL Canberra league was a weaker competition than the VFL, SANFL or WAFL.

He highlighted Swans rookie Nathan Gordon, who has just been promoted to the senior list in place of the retired Henry Playfair as an example of someone who took his opportunity.

"Nathan Gordon's a really good example. By weight of performance, he's now pushed his way on to the senior list because he tries as hard as he possibly can," Roos said.

"He runs as hard as he possibly can and he does the things we want our senior players to do in the seconds. Unfortunately for some of them, it doesn't get through."
This is Wonderful news for Nathan and all at Baulko send their congratulations.

Nathan is listed as an emergency for the Swans Hawthorn match on the 7 Aug - ref The Daily Telegraph and also redandwhiteonline - an independent Swans Messageboard and forum -link here

Thanks to Gordo (Nathan's Dad) and Drew (Baulko Tragic) for the info

 Call to Arms

Thankyou to everyone that supported the BHAFC Call To Arms effort on Sunday 27 June - $688 was raised on the day.  Our goal was $1000, and it would be great to achieve this.  Donations can still be made on line at

The money raised will fund lifesaving cancer research, education programs to reduce the number of men diagnosed with cancer, and support services for men facing tough times. I will be around to all teams training this week to hand out the packs.  Please get behind this very worthy cause!
